Position Overview

Hitachi Rail is seeking a dedicated and proactive SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER who excels in a dynamic and fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing a diverse array of responsibilities ranging from operational tasks to strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyzing software requirements
  • Developing and testing software solutions
  • Producing comprehensive software documentation

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming
  • Experience with Python programming
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems for embedded applications
  • Understanding of Ethernet-based communication networks
  • Knowledge of real-time embedded systems

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

  • Awareness of railway standards such as EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129
  • Experience with PLC programming languages (IEC 61131 / IEC 61499)
  • Proficiency in JAVA programming
  • Familiarity with HTML5 and Javascript development frameworks
  • Understanding of cybersecurity standards and design techniques

Education and Qualifications

A degree in Engineering or a comparable technical background is required.

Language Proficiency

Candidates must possess fluent English language skills, both written and spoken.
