Senior Direct Materials Buyer

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer for Direct Materials to join our procurement team, reporting directly to the Procurement Manager. This role is crucial for our operations, especially during this period of significant company growth.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

§ Expertise in supplier management specifically for direct materials, including supplier scouting and selection, with a solid understanding of plastic manufacturing processes.

§ Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, particularly in the context of ongoing company expansion.

§ Proficient in supporting and promoting optimization and cost-saving initiatives across the supplier network, including the formulation of comprehensive supply agreements.

§ Familiarity with standard procurement metrics and responsibilities: Negotiation, budget management, due dates, payment conditions, total cost of ownership (TCO), make-or-buy decisions, and quality assurance claims.

§ Collaborate with planners within the department on operational tasks (e.g., purchase order issuance) while also providing support in managing delays and addressing complaints when necessary.

Required Qualifications

· Education: Master’s degree in a relevant field (engineering or scientific disciplines preferred).

· Experience: A minimum of 5 to 6 years in a comparable position.

· Language Proficiency: Full professional command of both Italian and English.

· Ability to meet project deadlines and effectively integrate with our sister company.

· Strong communication skills to manage relationships with internal stakeholders and promote best practices.

· Analytical mindset, risk-based thinking, economic insight, and results-oriented approach.

· Organized, inquisitive, and proactive with strong problem-solving capabilities.
