The Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia is seeking a highly skilled Post Doc researcher to join our team in the field of 2D material synthesis and artificial intelligence. Our goal is to revolutionize the growth of 2D homo/heterostructures using advanced AI techniques and evolutionary reinforcement learning.
Key Responsibilities- Interface with the AI development team to ensure successful implementation of the artificial neural network for specific growth targets.
- Conduct chemical vapor deposition growth of selected 2D materials, adhering to experimental protocols and safety guidelines.
- Perform sample preparation, including cleaning and fabrication in the cleanroom environment, ensuring sample quality and consistency.
- Conduct sample characterization using techniques such as Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Raman spectroscopy to assess material properties.
- Perform data analysis to extract meaningful insights from experimental data.
- Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering or related fields.
- Strong experimental skills.
- A strong publication record.
- The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data.
- Creativity and marked enthusiasm for research is mandatory.
- Excellent command in spoken and written English.
- Previous experience in 2D materials growth.
- Experience on artificial neural networks and machine learning.
- Cleanroom experience.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving attitude.
- High motivation to learn.
