Job Description

Fugro is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Offshore Survey Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Party Chief/Team Leader in the execution of assigned work and tasks, ensuring timely completion and adherence to specifications.
  • Organize and prioritize own work, taking initiative to complete mobilization and calibration activities as required during designated projects.
  • Develop a strong understanding of surface positioning and subsea positioning or geophysical survey operations, including basic theory and operations.
  • Execute projects involving surface positioning and subsea positioning or geophysical survey to the standard dictated in the FAL Staff Competency Matrix.
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and testing of equipment in use, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Participate in the implementation of quality control procedures in the field environment, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Continuously learn and observe advanced operational work and tasks, seeking opportunities for growth and development.
  • Account for project and business-related expenditures, ensuring accurate and timely submission of reports.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Assist with the maintenance of field survey administration and filing systems, adhering to established work practices.
  • Ensure accurate time tracking and expense account management, promoting transparency and accountability.
  • Submit timely work reports for payroll and attendance purposes, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (QHSSE) Responsibilities
  • Participate actively in the adherence to and improvement of the company's Management System on Quality and HSE-related issues, promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in in-house and external training courses, enhancing technical knowledge and skills to support career growth and development.
Working Relationships
  • Collaborate with higher-grade field staff to ensure projects are completed to client specifications, promoting a culture of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Regularly meet with own staff to monitor job progress, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Meet with the Survey Manager for project debriefs, staff development interviews, and performance appraisals, ensuring open communication and feedback.
  • Discuss further training requirements with the FAL Technical Trainer, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Meet with the QHSSE Coordinator for QA discussions, feedback, and training, ensuring a high level of QHSSE awareness and compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering or survey-related education or sufficient related experience.
  • Relevant experience (minimum 1 year).
  • Proficiency in computer operation and basic knowledge of application software.
  • Basic English language skills (written and verbal).
