We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Scientist to join our interdisciplinary team at Istituto Italiano Di Tecnologia, focused on developing innovative multisensory technologies for inclusive engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, computer science, or related fields and a passion for human-centered research.

About the Role

This postdoctoral position is part of the RAISE project, funded by the European Union - NexGeneration EU, within the 'Urban Technologies for Inclusive Engagement' Spoke. You will work closely with our Principal Investigator, Monica Gori, and an international team of experts in engineering, neurophysiology, statistics, cognitive neuroscience, and rehabilitation. Together, you will investigate and develop tools for identifying interindividual differences in multisensory investigations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement mathematical models combined with motor analysis and artificial intelligence to develop and validate new technological solutions that adapt to user needs.
  • Conduct behavioral studies, combining motor tracking and biometric human parameters analysis, to determine user skills and apply machine learning approaches to develop new interactive solutions.
  • Collaborate with the team to design experiments, test, analyze data, and disseminate results in human-tools interaction settings.
Requirements
  • PhD in engineering, computer science, robotics, psychophysics, applied neuroscience, biomedical engineering, or related fields.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of programming languages.
  • Experience in mathematical models, possibly machine learning, data analysis, modeling, and statistics.
