About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAR Operations Logistician to join our team at Emergency ONG Onlus. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and collaborating with the SAR Team, ensuring the efficient and effective execution of search and rescue operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Activities:
    • Organize the ship for pre-departure and post-arrival phases;
    • Monitor and archive documentation;
    • Prepare the reception area in anticipation of rescue operations;
    • Collaborate in launching the RHIBs during rescue operations;
    • Provide emergency assistance during rescue (launch/recovery of emergency flotation systems, urgent boarding, etc...);
    • Collaborate during the boarding operations of the rescued people;
    • Deal with the operational management of the reception and shelter areas for rescued people, including cleaning, hygiene and waste;
    • In collaboration with the entire SAR Team, deal with the management of the rescued people once on board;
    • Manage the pre-disembarkation preparation of the rescued people;
    • Be available to carry out other tasks according to the activities derived from SAR operations;
    • Contribute to the professional training of Team members.
  • Management Activities:
    • Collaborate with the logistics department (SAR Logistic Officer, Logistics Desk and Warehouse) for the entire supply chain and project's needs;
    • Manage the reception and storage of materials on board;
    • Manage the needs of the staff on board, acting as a point of reference for the needs of the staff and crew;
    • Monitor auxiliary services, ensuring they meet quality and hygiene standards;
    • Collaborate with maritime agencies, authorities and suppliers, maintaining effective communication and coordination.
  • Specific Requirements:
    • Previous experience in logistics area and complete autonomy in managing spaces and equipment, as well as groups of people with different culture, language and age;
    • Experience in managing high numbers of staff;
    • Experience in multicultural and migration contexts
