Postdoctoral Researcher in Soft Mechanical Sensing

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in Genova, Italy. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and interdisciplinary research group focused on developing innovative soft mechanical sensing solutions for soft robotics.
Key Responsibilities- Design and fabricate soft mesoscale active structures by 3D printing, embedding multiple materials with different properties for 3D mechanical soft sensing.
- Investigate innovative materials with custom properties, compatible with 3D printing processes.
- Characterize 3D printed soft mechanical sensors.
- Ph.D. in material science, micro/nanotechnology, electrical engineering, or similar disciplines.
- At least 2-yr experience in fabrication processes based on Digital Light Processing (DLP) printing, multimaterial printing, casting/deposition of soft materials, and development and characterization of flexible and stretchable smart materials.
- Strong skills in design and testing of soft mechanical sensors, mechanical design, and excellent publication record.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to properly report, organize, and publish research data.
