About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at ABB E-mobility. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Foster a Culture of Quality: Develop and implement a culture of zero defect, continuous improvement, and quality consciousness within the production team.
  2. Develop Quality Control Plans: Create, implement, and manage quality control plans and processes for production operations.
  3. Implement Test Protocols: Define, implement, and manage test protocols to ensure full test coverage.
  4. Conduct Regular Inspections: Conduct regular inspections and product line audits to verify adherence to quality standards at each stage of the production process.
  5. Lead Quality Engineers: Lead and motivate a team of quality engineers, including functional coordination of resources allocated in North America.
  6. Provide Guidance and Support: Provide guidance and support to ensure a high level of performance and adherence to quality protocols.
  7. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with production managers and leaders to identify and implement process improvements that enhance product quality.
  8. Analyze Production Data: Analyze production data and quality metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  9. Generate Reports: Generate regular reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators related to product quality, including cost of poor quality.
  10. Provide Training: Provide training to production staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
  11. Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, standards, and certifications.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor or Master Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
  2. Proven Track Record: Proven track record in quality management, particularly in the realm of production processes.
  3. Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in a similar role.
  4. Interdisciplinary Environment: Ability to thrive in an interdisciplinary environment and contribute to sustainable solutions.
  5. Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, including fluency in both written and verbal English and Italian.
  6. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and devise effective solutions.
  7. Quality Control Processes: In-depth knowledge of quality control processes and methodologies.
Desired Qualifications
  1. ISO-9001 Standards: Strong familiarity with ISO-9001 standards, with expertise in QS-9000/ISO TS 16949/IATF 16949 also considered advantageous.
  2. Certifications in Quality Management: Certifications in quality management, such as Six Sigma or ASQ, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
  3. Manufacturing and Production Environments: Familiarity with manufacturing and production environments within the power electronics business or automotive industry, providing valuable insights and enhancing the ability to drive quality initiatives forward.
