Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Buyer to join our Procurement team at Fincantieri. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the acquisition of materials and services to meet the needs of our business units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiate and issue purchase orders, acquire confirmations, and manage contract modifications;
- Supervise the implementation of procurement strategies developed in collaboration with the Procurement Department;
- Contribute to the development of supplier management strategies and market research to optimize and rationalize supplier choices;
- Support the Project Management team and shipyards to ensure that contract/ order fulfillment occurs in accordance with company procedures;
- Introduce updates to procurement-related legislation in contracts;
- Define procurement policies and payment conditions for suppliers to optimize procurement costs;
- Participate in supplier evaluation/qualification activities and necessary site visits.
Requirements:
- University degree in Engineering, Economics, or scientific faculties;
- At least 5 years of experience in similar roles in industrial and product companies;
- Good written and spoken English skills;
- Additional requirements include: economic sensitivity, planning ability, result-oriented attitude, analytical skills, customer focus, teamwork attitude, and curiosity.
