Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Technician, Data Center Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Technician to join our Data Center Operations team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers, providing technical expertise, and driving continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Facility Operations
- Oversee the maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures to identify and implement corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work, and promote a culture of safety within the team.
- Comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards for data center operations.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver operational excellence for all AWS customers.
- Communicate technical information and findings to non-technical stakeholders, including management and customers.
- Education and Experience
- Apprentice/trades certified or diploma in an Electrical field with practice & theoretical knowledge in key electrical competencies, and/or knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls).
- 3+ years of experience in operations and on-call support for Data Center facilities / or Mission Critical Plants/ Production facilities.
- Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to draft accurate support procedures, compile system documentation, and issue tracking entries while taking full ownership of technical issues.
- Driving license valid in Italy and willingness to travel between data center sites, and internationally if required.
- Solid IT skills; experience and knowledge of MS Office suite.
