Our team develops onboard software for satellites and robust data processing systems for ground operations. Our commitment to research and development propels human exploration of the cosmos. We create Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI) compliant with INSPIRE, alongside solutions for Smart Cities and complex systems that leverage geographic and Earth observation data, embracing the latest trends in Cloud and Software as a Service.

In the space sector, our primary clientele includes space agencies such as the Italian Space Agency and the European Space Agency, along with significant players in the aerospace industry.

Planetek excels in the integration of hardware and software systems for the comprehensive acquisition, processing, and dissemination of remote sensing data, covering the entire production spectrum from Earth Observation to Deep Space, and from the Space Segment to the Ground Segment and User Segment. Our core responsibilities focus on Systems and Software Engineering, with a strong emphasis on Space Mission Analysis and Design (SMAD).

ROLE OF A FRONT-END WEB DEVELOPER AT PLANETEK ITALIA

As a Front-End Web Developer, your primary responsibility will be to design and maintain user interfaces that are not only visually appealing but also user-friendly and efficient. You will collaborate closely with the design team to bring UX and UI concepts to life using contemporary web technologies. Your role will also encompass optimizing web performance, ensuring cross-browser compatibility, and maintaining the security of our web applications.

You will engage in pioneering projects within the space sector, playing a vital role in the development of software solutions and applications that support satellite systems, space missions, and data analysis in the aerospace domain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with design teams to convert UX and UI designs into responsive web interfaces.
  • Develop web applications utilizing modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js, along with hybrid mobile app frameworks like Flutter.
  • Implement web standards and best practices to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code.
  • Enhance web performance through techniques like code minification, lazy loading, and image optimization.
  • Guarantee cross-browser compatibility across various platforms and devices.
  • Utilize HTML, CSS, and TypeScript to create engaging and interactive user interfaces.
  • Work with Restful or GraphQL APIs to retrieve and display data within web applications.
  • Collaborate with the design team using Figma and graphic design tools to accurately implement designs.
  • Apply Material Design principles to develop visually consistent and appealing user interfaces.
  • Create responsive designs that adapt seamlessly to different screen sizes and devices.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of web applications to ensure an optimal user experience.
  • Maintain the security of web applications by adhering to best practices and implementing necessary security protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders in both English and Italian.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

  • Familiarity with server environments and backend technologies.
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies and practices.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in package managers such as npm and yarn for dependency management.
  • Basic graphic design skills to collaborate effectively with designers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong command of HTML, CSS, and TypeScript.
  • Experience with at least one modern frontend framework like Angular, React, or Vue.js.
  • Familiarity with Restful or GraphQL APIs.
  • Solid grasp of web standards, best practices, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Experience with design collaboration tools like Figma.
  • Knowledge of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Italian.
