About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Operations Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Area Managers, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the smooth execution of our logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of Area Managers, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the skills and resources needed to succeed.
  2. Operational Excellence: Lead operational teams on a shift, deal with issues, and positively impact site performance by analyzing shift performance against relevant business objectives and implementing actions to improve operational excellence.
  3. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other support teams, including HR, Finance, Health and Safety, and Security, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration across the organization.
  4. Initiative Development: Design and deliver initiatives across the sites to improve operational performance, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
A Day in the Life

As a Logistics Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading shifts at one of our operational sites, working closely with various teams to ensure the smooth execution of our logistics operations. You will also be responsible for mentoring and coaching your team, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the skills and resources needed to succeed.

About the Team

Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles 'last mile' delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilize creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers' delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Amazon Restaurants.

Requirements
  • A degree
  • Relevant experience in people and stakeholder management
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and intermediate proficiency in the local language
  • Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions
  • Relevant experience in key areas of production and supply chains
