About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Operability Engineer to join our team at Alstom. As an Operability Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our rolling stock.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze operational needs and requirements for the complete life cycle of our rolling stock, including manufacturing, commercial service, maintenance, and decommissioning.
- Define the operability, usability, and maintainability of our rolling stock in agreement with the operability context, including environmental conditions, infrastructure, and users.
- Identify gaps in the analysis and manage these gaps with the project team to define operational use cases and human interfaces for all involved users.
- Verify the operability analysis process outcomes with necessary verification means, including modeling and simulation.
- Assist System Engineers in allocating derived requirements to subsystems and provide support on operability-related questions.
- Exchange with the operability-related community to grow operability knowledge.
Requirements
- Master of Engineering from a University with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in engineering.
- Working experience in system engineering on large-scale projects at various stages in the project lifecycle and within railway operators, maintainers, and manufacturers.
- Experience on different product types, including regional trains and main lines.
- Awareness of different railway operability aspects, including operational environment, infrastructure, users, and operability procedures.
- Ability for analysis and understanding of complex systems engineering cases.
- Technical writing, requirement elicitation, and formalization skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate with external stakeholders.
- Good communication skills in English.
