ContourGlobal is a leading independent power producer with a strong presence in the renewable energy sector.

The Team Leader Engineering PV plants will be responsible for developing PV plant designs, using energy yield assessments, layout optimization, and state-of-the-art component configurations to determine the lowest cost of energy (LCOE). They will also manage external engineering companies to review and optimize the final project design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) solar designs, including equipment selection, energy modeling, and optimization to design the highest performing integrated systems.
  • Conduct engineering reviews and technical due diligence, including evaluation of system components, cables sizing, configuration, and environmental conditions to confirm reliable energy production estimates that optimize capacity, production, and cost.
  • Identify new PV and equipment technologies to maximize internal rate of return (solar modules, PV inverters, tracking structures, components for electrical connection to the grid, and other pertinent technologies).
  • Cooperate with the Procurement Function to assess technical offers and proposals to ensure compliance with project requirements and select the best value for money components and services.
  • Support the Construction team to solve technical issues and modifications and visit plants under construction to ensure compliance with the design.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of technical data consistent with engineering best practices.
  • Confirm project designs with industry standards to optimize for constraints, including geography, schedule, scope, and financial constraints.
  • Prepare other technical documents, reports, and calculations as necessary.
  • Build a small team to support the above activities as the pipeline grows.

Project Assessment:

  • Run various production estimates in pursuit of highest IRR using specialized software tools as input for financial models.
  • Develop energy yield assessments (EYAs) to aid in the optimization of high-value projects.

Qualification and Skills:

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years' experience designing and optimizing utility-scale solar projects.
  • A history of success in complex solar projects.
  • Knowledge of the renewable energy industry and development processes related to large-scale wind, solar, and storage.
  • Strong project management skills with experience with relational databases to track and report information.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to build strong professional relationships and work in a team.

Travel Requirements: Up to 20% upon business needs.
