If you are passionate about contributing to a low-carbon future, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are currently in search of a Piping Materials Engineer to oversee the management of piping materials within our Plant Design & Materials Division, located in Rome.
In this role, you will be part of the Piping Material Management Section, responsible for defining, procuring, and tracking piping materials.
As a Piping Materials Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the Materials Management Discipline Coordinator on various projects.
This position offers the potential for professional growth, encompassing all aspects of piping material management.
Key interactions for the Piping Materials Engineer include collaboration with project teams, process engineers, civil engineers, piping designers, instrumentation specialists, IT, estimating and cost control departments, and construction and planning departments, as well as external engagement with clients and suppliers.
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Developing piping class summaries and specifications;
- Creating job specifications for design and supply;
- Preparing data sheets for specialized materials;
- Conducting piping material take-offs and monitoring quantities;
- Preparing material requisitions for inquiries and purchases;
- Analyzing vendor offers and performing technical bid tabulations, including clarifications and deviations;
- Reviewing vendor documentation;
- Reevaluating quantities for purchasing and construction;
- Performing piping materials forecast runs to ensure material availability at the site;
You will have opportunities for business travel to attend technical meetings with clients or suppliers, visit vendor workshops, and collaborate with colleagues across various Technip Energies locations.
Occasionally, you may also engage in engineering activities related to piping materials directly at plant sites, supporting prefabrication and erection efforts.

Candidate Profile
We encourage applications from candidates who meet the following essential criteria:
- Local contracts only;
- Candidates must possess a valid work permit for Italy;
- Qualifications: Master’s degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering;
- Language proficiency: fluent in both Italian and English (written and spoken);
Key Skills:
- Team-oriented attitude in an international and multicultural setting;
- Growth mindset and commitment to continuous improvement;
- Strong presentation and communication skills across all organizational levels;
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines with high-quality standards;
- Willingness to travel internationally for short or long-term assignments;
- Open-mindedness towards emerging energy sources and familiarity with new digital tools and solutions;
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas sector;
IT Proficiency:
- Strong skills in MS Office, particularly Excel;
- Experience with Smart Plant Materials;
