About the Job

We're seeking a highly skilled Cloud Technical Lead to join our SAS Cloud team in Milan. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering world-class SAS service to our customers.

As a Cloud Technical Lead, you will provide technical leadership and ownership from project kick off through UAT and go-live for hosted and remotely managed customer projects. You will ensure that all current and future technical project requirements have a clearly defined scope and can be progressed by the responsible service team without issue.

You will work collaboratively with customers, analysts, developers, and implementation team members to deliver high-quality SAS service. You will leverage your deep technical skillset and knowledge to provide technical guidance and support for customer engagements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical leadership and ownership from project kick off through UAT and go-live for hosted and remotely managed customer projects
  • Ensuring that all current and future technical project requirements have a clearly defined scope and can be progressed by the responsible service team without issue
  • Working collaboratively with customers, analysts, developers, and implementation team members to deliver high-quality SAS service
  • Providing technical guidance and support for customer engagements
  • Enhancing operational requirements to improve system stability, monitoring awareness, and decrease operational burden to ensure a positive customer experience
  • Facilitating actions as a SAS Administrator as required for tasks or issues with high complexity, increased urgency, or the potential for reduced effort or cost
  • Ensuring SAS Cloud standards and best practices are adhered to and validated
  • Providing knowledge transfer for larger team related to their customer engagements and/or key technology areas
  • Delivering excellent customer service using a customer-first and continuous improvement mindset
  • Using IT Service Management best practices for change, incident, and problem management to meet and support Service Level Agreement requirements SAS Cloud customers
  • Creating and maintaining service documentation including runbooks, knowledge base articles, and wiki content
  • Configuring, managing, monitoring, and debugging mid-tier software
  • Managing, monitoring, and maintaining container-based applications deployed in cloud container services
  • Developing tools and software to manage SAS and third-party software
  • Diagnosing, documenting, reporting, and resolving system problems
  • Working directly with external customers and interfacing with other support teams and vendors

Requirements

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in cloud infrastructure, technical operations, and customer support. Key qualifications include:

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, technical operations, and customer support
  • Strong technical skills in cloud infrastructure, including experience with cloud-based platforms like Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, or OpenShift
  • Experience with containers, container-based applications, and/or container orchestration tools
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python, Ansible, or Kubernetes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, analysts, developers, and implementation team members
  • Fluency in Italian and English
