Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Maintenance Specialist to join our team in Florence, KY. As a key member of our manufacturing organization, you will be responsible for performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on plant production equipment.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and electrical work on plant production equipment, including mixing, forming, baking, and packaging equipment.
- Inspect mechanical systems, electrical systems, equipment, controls, and components to identify hazards, defects, and need for adjustments/repairs/programming.
- Troubleshoot and repair defective machines and equipment by adjusting, replacing, or installing new or reconditioned parts, following specifications and blueprints, and manuals.
- Inspect spare parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Conduct informal training of operators and junior maintenance techs as needed.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner to ensure minimal downtime.
- Comply with all OSHA Safety, GMPs, and Food and Health Safety rules and regulations.
- Communicate technical subjects verbally and in writing to co-workers and vendors.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3 years of prior experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial plant environment OR 2-year technical degree or certificate in a maintenance field such as Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance, or related field of study AND 1 year experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial plant environment.
- Able to work with computers navigating systems recording information locating information necessary to perform the job; CMMS and SAP experience is preferred.
- Able to use basic mathematical skills in order to perform machine and mechanical systems maintenance calibrations and repairs.
- Basic knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and controls experience.
- Basic welding technique; Sanitary welding is preferred.
- Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Strong communication skills.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work overtime when required.
