Building Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Building Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the Arizona State Government. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule and plan maintenance-related projects, including pricing, material lists, and equipment needs.
- Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks as required and scheduled.
- Complete related documentation as required by policy and as directed by supervisor.
- Basic knowledge of office equipment, including computers, internet research, and completion of documents.
- Conduct inspections and maintain tools and equipment to ensure proper working order and accountability.
- Supervise and evaluate inmate worker performance.
- Attend staff meetings and training as required, and perform other duties appropriate to the assignment.
- Drive on State business.
- Knowledge of structural issues regarding building and utility service systems, including blueprints, safety practices, and codes.
- Knowledge of trades, including electrical, electronic, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, general facility maintenance, and preventative maintenance.
- Knowledge of budgeting, including estimating costs and ordering materials.
- Knowledge of common and specialized tools and equipment for performing duties.
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and national and local building codes/regulations.
- Basic reading of blueprints, schematics, and general construction.
- Mechanical devices, electrical, preventative maintenance.
- Using and demonstrating the use of common and specialist tools.
- Written and verbal communication.
- Building and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
This position requires the ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs, push/pull up to 50lbs, walk/run up to 0.25 miles, and work in a prison environment. The selected candidate must also be able to supervise inmate work crews and learn and adhere to ADCRR policies and procedures.
