Job Title: Senior Quality Assurance Specialist

Join the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) as a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist and contribute to the organization's mission to eradicate rural poverty and hunger.

About the Role

The Senior Quality Assurance Specialist will provide technical leadership and expertise to ensure the effective delivery of divisional programs. S/he will provide strategic and technical advice and guidance on quality assurance processes, negotiate and resolve problems, and develop and build collaborative working relationships with IFAD colleagues and other partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise to ensure the effective delivery of divisional programs.
  • Provide strategic and technical advice and guidance on quality assurance processes.
  • Negotiate and resolve problems that arise in the process.
  • Develop and build collaborative working relationships with IFAD colleagues and other partners.
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge products and facilitate knowledge sharing with IFAD.
Requirements
  • Advanced university degree in a job-related field.
  • At least eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience in an international development agency, working on issues related to rural transformation.
  • Three (3) years in a multicultural organization or national organization providing support on a global scope.
  • Position-specific: Direct experience gained in operations of rural development projects is an asset.
Language Requirements

Excellent English language skills are required. French, Spanish, or Arabic language skills are desirable.

Skills and Competencies
  • Risk and compliance: Knowledge of asset liability management, risk reporting, capital adequacy, quality assurance, and compliance.
  • Economic analysis: Knowledge of programme/project economic analysis.
  • Economic evaluation: Knowledge relevant to specific roles in evaluation roles.
  • Analytical skills: Outstanding ability to analyze and synthesize qualitative and/or quantitative information from a variety of sources.
  • Data management: Data collection, cleaning, transformation, and consolidation; database architecture and development; data presentation.
  • Risk management: Identification and assessment of potential liabilities and risks in IFAD's activities.
Working Relationships

The work relationships of the Senior Quality Assurance Specialist involve the provision of authoritative strategic and technical advice and guidance on quality assurance processes and the negotiation and resolution of problems that arise in the process.

Education

Advanced university degree from an accredited institution listed on https://www.ifad.org in a job-related field.

Experience

At least eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience in an international development agency, working on issues related to rural transformation.

Languages

Excellent English language skills are required. French, Spanish, or Arabic language skills are desirable.

Skills

Risk and compliance, economic analysis, economic evaluation, analytical skills, data management, risk management.

Other Information

Applicants should note that IFAD staff members are international civil servants subject to the authority of the President of IFAD.

In accordance with IFAD's Human Resources Policy, the President can decide to assign them to any of the activities of the Fund.

All International Professional staff members are required to be geographically mobile and positions in the professional category are subject to changes in location at any time in line with strategic priorities and reform initiatives in IFAD.

In accordance with IFAD's provisions, all new staff members will normally be placed at the first step in the grade level for which they have been selected.
