About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Dow Jones. As a key member of our Quality Assurance organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with multiple business areas to gain a deep understanding of our products and processes.
  • Test software and content to ensure changes and additions meet business expectations without negatively affecting existing reports and workflows.
  • Perform manual tests, including data validation and verification.
  • Develop and maintain test plans and estimates for testing tasks.
  • Participate in production deploys with multiple project teams.
  • Define User Stories working with SQA Engineers, Product Owner, and other development team members to ensure stories are ready with appropriate user acceptance criteria.
  • Perform regression tests for deployment verification and auditing purposes.
  • Document and track testing results and bugs, working with developers to understand and recreate issues within software/projects.
  • Identify and track recurring issues, updating test plans and working with SQA Engineers to improve automation coverage to address recurring issues.
  • Document product and software functionality, workflow, and process.
  • Leverage business and product knowledge to aid and support SQA Engineers in building automated test suites and product teams during the development process.
  • Help identify potential workflow issues early in the development process.
  • Maintain documentation to enable clear understanding of testing responsibilities, expectations, and practices related to the products and projects in development.
  • Learn and employ quality assurance best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 2+ years professional experience in customer service or other business environment.
  • Knowledge of the Software Testing Life Cycle and performing functional, exception, edge, integration, and regression tests.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technology and data-related issues.
  • Ability to think abstract, outside of the box – to find bugs quickly, that are not the norm.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a detail-oriented working methodology.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact and communicate with all levels of an organization.
  • Understanding of different web browsers and common office software (Microsoft Office, Google Drive).
  • Basic knowledge of at least one high-level programming language or technology.
  • IT'S A BONUS IF YOU ALSO HAVE:
    • Experience working with Agile/Scrum teams.
    • Prior knowledge of OPIS data.
    • Experience with Azure DevOps (or other similar issue/bug tracking systems).
