We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Accountant to join our team in Florence, Italy.
Job Summary:The Chief Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations of our hotel, including financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and post daily revenues and banking documents.
- Reconcile, review, and submit quarterly and monthly VAT.
- Review all payments and submit for bank load and approval.
- Complete bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile PAYE payments to payroll software and ensure HMRC portal managed.
- Manage the hotel's accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial policies and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations.
- Assist in the preparation for external audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the hotel's assets.
- Individuals with a passion for hospitality and a strong background in accounting and finance.
- Previous experience in hotels is preferred but not mandatory.
- Understanding of the basic accounting functions.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Someone with a hands-on, outgoing, pro-active approach; taking personal responsibility and initiative to prevent or resolve problems.
- A balance between a methodical and process-driven approach and flexibility and creativity when it comes to meeting deadlines and finding solutions.
