Job Title: Food Safety Expert

FAO is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Food Safety Expert to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and implementing food control programs and public sector policies for food safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement food safety strategies and policies to ensure compliance with international standards.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify areas for improvement in food safety management.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to countries to strengthen their food safety systems.
  • Collaborate with international organizations and stakeholders to promote best practices in food safety.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the capacity of food safety professionals.
Requirements
  • Advanced university degree in a relevant field such as food science, food technology, or public health.
  • At least 5 years of experience in food safety management, policy development, or research.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with international stakeholders.
