We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Consultant to join our team at ERM, a leading provider of environmental, health, and safety consulting services. As a Principal Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting our Private Equity clients in their efforts to decarbonize their portfolio companies and create value in the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Key Responsibilities- Develop Commercial Strategies: Develop and execute commercial strategies to pursue and win new business opportunities that result in significant revenue growth.
- Lead Decarbonization Projects: Lead origination and delivery of client decarbonization projects, working closely with clients' ESG, climate, investment, and operating teams to develop decarbonization and energy transition fund plans and programs.
- Design and Execute Decarbonization Plans: Work with clients' ESG, investment, and operating teams to design and execute 'Investment Grade' decarbonization plans for the hold period for new and existing investments.
- Lead Multi-Disciplinary Teams: Lead multi-disciplinary teams across ERM's sustainable energy solutions, M&A, digital, and Corporate Sustainability & Climate Change expert groups.
- Provide Expert Insights: Provide expert insights, guidance, and support to clients and portfolio company management on how to translate decarbonization initiatives and projects into value-creating business models.
- Lead Energy Transition and Climate-Focused Due Diligence Projects: Lead energy transition and climate-focused due diligence projects throughout the diligence lifecycle to increase value and reduce risks from an operational perspective.
- Experience in Delivering Decarbonization Plans: Experience in delivering 'investment grade' decarbonization plans that meet the needs of both portfolio companies and General Partner goals, investment outcomes, and programs.
- Deep Understanding of Energy Efficiency Measures: Deep understanding of energy efficiency measures, renewable energy procurement, low-carbon solutions, solutions for the built environment, industrial decarbonization, and sustainable value chain initiatives.
- Desirable Skills: In-depth knowledge of private equity and infrastructure investors and portfolio operations teams, experience in leading strategic engagements at the C-suite level, and knowledge of energy transition investing, Science Based Targets, and Scope 3 abatement programs.
