About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled ICT Service Specialist to join our team at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing our service desk activities, providing technical assistance to users, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage service desk activities and provide technical assistance to users, both on-site and remotely.
  • Manage and maintain our IT infrastructure, including Windows and Linux servers, storage, and backup systems.
  • Install and configure IT assets, including hardware and software.
  • Collaborate with other ICT offices to manage standard changes and higher-level requests.
Requirements
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in IT infrastructure management, including Windows and Linux servers, computer networking fundamentals, virtualization, and storage systems management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
Desirable Skills
  • Prior experience with IT service management and ITILv3 certification.
  • Knowledge of IT service management methods and specific knowledge of audio/video systems management for events.
  • Previous experience in research centers/institutions and certifications for required skills.
