Location: Italy

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior or Principal Consultant (FLUENT IN ITALIAN) to collaborate with the Steer international transaction team and contribute to the enhancement of our global Port & Maritime services. The chosen candidate will engage in diverse projects within the freight (container, bulk) and passenger (ferry, cruise) maritime industries, providing strategic advisory services to clients across Italy, Europe, the Americas, and Asia.

Qualifications Required

  • Master's degree in Economics, Management, Engineering, or a related field;
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in the maritime and port industry.

Essential Requirements

We expect the following from you:

  • Proven experience in the Port & Maritime sector;
  • Understanding of strategic elements, market trends, and key factors, particularly in the freight domain;
  • Capability to assume a Project Manager role and successfully deliver projects (time, cost, quality);
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel;
  • Ability to generate reports in a coherent and structured manner;
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey analytical findings clearly to non-technical audiences;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, time management, and teamwork abilities;
  • Entrepreneurial mindset to support business development;
  • Willingness to attend client meetings in Italy and internationally as project needs arise;
  • Fluency in both Italian and English is essential (written and spoken). Additional language skills are a plus.

Desirable Additional Attributes

· Familiarity with port operational processes;

· Previous involvement in Due Diligence projects, especially in Commercial, Technical, and ESG areas;

· Experience in effectively managing stakeholder groups;

· Proven track record in securing work and engaging clients.
