TEST LABORATORY ENGINEER

Objective of the Role

- Conducting type, validation, or investigative tests and preparing comprehensive reports.

- Defining and implementing optimal testing methodologies and techniques.

- Developing operational testing modes and analyzing results effectively.

Position Overview

Reporting Structure

Hierarchical and Functional: Reports to the Test Laboratory Manager.

Internal and External Collaborations

Internal: Project Validation Manager, TTL – Test Team Leader, Validation Engineers, Test Laboratory Manager, Test Engineers.

External: Subcontractors, Test Laboratories.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Metrics

Relevant aspects of Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD).

Accountabilities

- Defining the most suitable testing methodologies, means, and developing operational modes in alignment with cost, time, and pass-fail criteria.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparing for the execution of assigned tests.
  • Participating in the design and development of necessary testing tools.
  • Implementing, verifying (functionality), and ensuring compliance (calibration) of measuring equipment prior to testing.
  • Preparing testing equipment and validating configurations to ensure readiness.
  • Adhering to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, including LockOut-TagOut procedures.
  • Supervising and/or executing test activities, analyzing results in real-time, and determining the necessity for retesting.
  • Conducting data analysis of test results and preparing both static and dynamic test reports.

Job Specifications

Knowledge & Experience

- Familiarity with ISO 17025 is advantageous.

- Mechanical, Electro-technical, or Electrical knowledge.

- Capability in organizing tests and knowledge of planning tools.

- Proficiency in English.

Innovation

- Contributing insights from a validation perspective, particularly regarding improvements in validation methods/tools, focusing on quality, duration, and cost efficiency within the scope of activities to minimize time spent on trains.
