Role Overview

Position Summary
To drive process excellence within our Last Mile Delivery business, we are currently seeking an experienced Area Manager. In this dynamic role, you will gain experience leading a diverse team to ensure your operational area meets demand.

Key Responsibilities
As an Area Manager, you will:

  • Foster a culture of safety and well-being.
  • Analyze and implement corrective actions to maintain high levels of quality and productivity, ensuring business objectives are met across all shifts.
  • Support and lead a team while managing administrative tasks and cultivating a strong team culture.
  • Evaluate performance and propose process enhancements to optimize operations and improve customer service.
  • Collaborate with fellow managers to standardize shift processes.

A Day in the Life
Your work will involve shifts at one of our operational sites, with a primary focus on maintaining safety standards and process efficiency. Daily tasks will include managing routine team operations, addressing individual escalations, and engaging in process improvement initiatives.

Collaboration and Analysis
Being an integral part of the operations team means working alongside colleagues from various teams and external partners to ensure we meet customer demands and targets. This will involve analyzing data and performance metrics with leaders in your business area and discussing operational improvements with engineers.

About the Team
Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, manages 'last mile' delivery in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We leverage creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver millions of products to our customers.

Our objective is to enhance the delivery experience for our customers and implement global delivery solutions for our innovative concepts. We focus on operations with 24/7 shifts in most locations, ensuring a supportive environment for our associates.

Basic Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A degree.
  • Relevant experience in people management.
  • Experience communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
  • Experience utilizing data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and the local language.

Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are advantageous:

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Experience in a logistics environment.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional setting.
