Key Responsibilities of the Cloud SysOps Engineer:
As a member of the Cloud Operations team, you will engage with a diverse range of technologies, development teams, tools, and methodologies. Your role will involve collaborating with fellow team members to manage and enhance cloud infrastructure, investigate and resolve system and performance challenges, and proactively monitor our production environment. You will work closely with developers to organize development and production environments, manage environment variables, and refine design choices.
Our core Cloud engineering department is committed to Agile practices, fostering a collaborative atmosphere where teamwork, self-organization, and proactive problem-solving are paramount. We believe that the best solutions arise from collective intelligence and collaborative decision-making.
- Collaborate with the team to develop, maintain, enhance, and extend our Cloud infrastructure.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve Cloud service issues in conjunction with Customer Support, development teams, and Product Management.
- Identify patterns of issues and potential root causes, advocating for thorough investigations and holistic solutions.
- Assist in managing emergency plans for cloud services, including backup and restore systems.
- Contribute to disaster recovery solutions based on stakeholder requirements.
- Help maintain and enhance the security posture and maturity of our organization.
- Automate and optimize application availability, scalability, performance monitoring, and alerting.
- Evaluate operational activities and technology debt scenarios that could benefit from innovative ideas or automation.
- Support the continuous evolution and improvement of team processes and practices.
- Ensure process repeatability, document any changes to infrastructure, and assist customers during deployment and downtime activities.
Qualifications for CCH Tagetik part of Wolters Kluwer:
A strong desire to learn and collaborate effectively in a highly interactive environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster positive working relationships.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proficiency with AWS or Azure platforms.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems, shell scripting, and networking.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Background in maintaining and monitoring backup systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience in customer management.
- Fluency in Italian and a good command of English.
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira or Salesforce).
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of virtualization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with configuration management (e.g., Chef) and cloud automation (e.g., Terraform).
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Ruby).
- Understanding of CI/CD practices.
- AWS or Azure certifications.
