POSITION SUMMARY
Imerys, a global leader in mineral-based specialty solutions for various industries, provides high-value functional solutions across a wide range of sectors, from manufacturing to consumer products. With a presence in over 40 countries and a workforce exceeding 16,000, Imerys is dedicated to excellence. In Italy, the company operates through 7 production facilities and various trading activities.
To enhance its financial operations, Imerys is seeking a General Ledger Accountant on a fixed-term basis.
The successful candidate will be a proactive individual, eager to embrace responsibilities within a multinational framework, and capable of collaborating effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders, including accounting, treasury, IT, customer service, procurement, and operations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the Financial Service Center located in Greece, ensuring effective management of general accounting and related reconciliations.
- Manage intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Provide support to all Italian entities of Imerys in administrative and archiving tasks.
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of electronic invoicing processes.
- Handle VAT, Conai, and Intrastat submissions.
- Engage in IT initiatives aimed at the implementation and customization of SAP 4Hana.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Possess an accounting diploma or a degree in economics.
- Have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role within well-structured organizations.
- Be fluent in both Italian and English, with proficiency in French considered an advantage.
- Demonstrate strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Have mandatory knowledge of SAP, with JDE experience being a plus.
