Job Description

Thales Alenia Space is seeking a highly skilled Communication Systems Engineer to join our team in the development of cutting-edge space communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the definition of communication subsystem functional and performance requirements through analysis and assessment.
  • Develop and maintain models and software tools for simulating communication system functionalities and main performances.
  • Define and implement RF budgets and related command and control interfaces.
  • Contribute to the definition of payload and system architectures.
  • Support the verification and validation phases of the programme by assessing and evaluating communication system functionalities and performance.
  • Participate in meetings and reviews with internal and external customers.
  • Prepare documents and presentations.
  • Contribute to programme reports and minutes of meetings.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Electronic/Telecommunication Engineering.
  • Background in communication systems with a focus on space applications.
  • Knowledge of digital and RF electronics for data handling, processing, and wide-band communication.
  • Knowledge of main on-board data interfaces (e.g. MIL 1553 B, CANSpaceWire, High Speed Serial Link).
  • Knowledge of radio communication and related protocols (e.g. CCSDS, data compression techniques).
  • Programming skills in languages such as C, Visual Basic, and Matlab.
  • MS Office products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
