We are seeking a Bid Manager to enhance our efforts in the Public Sector within our Sales Support division.
The Bid Manager plays a pivotal role in leading teams, stakeholders, and clients throughout the entire engagement process. This position is integral in shaping and executing the strategy and client engagement plan, collaborating closely with the sales lead on deal qualification, client and partner engagement, and leading a diverse team to ensure all deliverables are achieved.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Acts as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for clients, third parties, and partners regarding tender procurement and planning issues;
- Develops, maintains, and oversees a pursuit and resource plan while engaging a multi-disciplinary team;
- Manages the pursuit budget in alignment with affordability guidelines;
- Guarantees the quality and timely delivery of all client outputs across various work streams;
- Ensures adherence to corporate governance processes;
- Responsible for comprehensive project management of the pursuit, including risk and issue management;
- Communicates and reinforces sales strategies and client needs to the pursuit team;
- For public sector engagements, possesses in-depth knowledge of procurement laws and tender regulations, ensuring compliance with required deliverables;
- For commercial sector initiatives, plans, prepares, and participates in client meetings, workshops, and presentations;
- Supports the sales lead in interactions with alliance partners.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Typically 3-7+ years of experience in bid management, consultative selling, and solution/account management within the ICT sector;
- Preferable experience with the public procurement process in Italy;
- Knowledge of local market dynamics, including integrators, vendors, and third-party service providers;
- Technical expertise in the IT industry, ideally in ITO, Applications, and Analytics;
- Proven track record in leading multiple remote, cross-functional teams within a global or complex regional context;
- Capability to act as the lead for large, intricate projects;
- Adaptive project management skills, utilizing the best methodologies based on project size and complexity;
- Familiarity with project management and Agile methodologies; certifications such as PMI, Prince2, or Scrum Master are advantageous;
- Preferred experience in deal costing and pricing;
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with effective presentation abilities;
- Native Italian speaker; Fluency in English - both verbal and written (Upper Intermediate / Advanced);
- A first-level university degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
