Job Summary

As an Electrical and Mechanical Assembly Technician at Jabil Careers, you will play a critical role in the assembly of complex electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic robotic and equipment. You will work under general supervision to plan, map, sequence, and perform assembly tasks from verbal and written instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic troubleshooting activities on assembly automation equipment to identify and resolve issues.
  • Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems on assembly automation equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct equipment failure analysis, repairs, and scheduled preventative maintenance on robotic and automated equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Set up manual and semi-automatic assembly lines and assist in operating pre-production runs to ensure efficient production processes.
  • Install new automated equipment and relocate existing equipment to new locations, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Create and edit robot programs to optimize production efficiency and accuracy.
  • Update manuals and programs for automated equipment to reflect changes and improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all activities performed on each piece of equipment to ensure accountability and transparency.
  • Collaborate with engineering staff to identify areas for machine improvements and provide input on design and development.
  • Develop and maintain production maintenance schedules and parts inventory to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all software is up-to-date and backed up to prevent data loss and ensure business continuity.
  • Work closely with Maintenance, Process, and Industrial Engineering Technicians to maintain daily production operations and assembly through preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Support company safety and quality programs and initiatives to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Support the manufacturing execution system to ensure efficient production processes and accurate data tracking.
  • Provide training and support to operators on manual and final assembly lines, balancing production and maintaining tools and equipment.
  • Work with multiple types of electronic equipment and custom-made automations to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain computer programming skills to create and edit robot programs and optimize production processes.
  • Develop and maintain advanced Excel skills, including macro development, to analyze and optimize production data.
