Position Overview
Within the Mechanical and Thermal Engineering Department, the selected candidate will undertake the following key responsibilities:
- Design and 3D modeling of spacecraft mechanical structure components.
- Thermal design and 3D modeling of spacecraft thermal hardware.
- Design and 3D modeling of harness bundles.
- 2D CAD drafting related to the aforementioned tasks.
- Preparation and management of product structures and BOM within company databases.
- Selection of mechanical, thermal, and electrical standard parts from company databases.
- Preparation and reporting of structure mass budgets.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- High school diploma in a relevant mechanical or similar field (acceptable as a minimum qualification, provided it meets the essential criteria outlined below).
Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of experience as a CAD design specialist. Knowledge of aerospace structures is highly advantageous, along with basic sizing of mechanical components.
The following skills are mandatory:
- Proficient in CATIA V5 CAD modeling.
- Mechanical design expertise.
- Good knowledge of Parts Design and Assembly Design.
- Basic knowledge of sheet metal design and electrical wire harness installation.
- Strong drafting skills.
- Familiarity with PDM systems (preferably ENOVIA).
- Understanding of mechanical tolerances for parts and assemblies.
- Knowledge of standard parts datasheets.
- Ability to interpret geometrical inputs for CAD design (ICD, specifications, etc.).
- Experience in product tree generation and management using dedicated tools.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Optional Skills
The following skills are considered advantageous:
- Mechanical analysis capabilities, including basic static/modal analysis.
- Workshop experience with basic machining and manufacturing techniques.
