Job Summary

Villanova University is seeking a highly skilled Culinary Professional to join our team at Cafe Nova. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of menu items, including sauces, soups, entrees, and vegetables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow established recipes and production procedures to ensure high-quality food products.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Assist with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients.
  • Work collaboratively with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food production.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment.
  • Participate in special functions and catering events as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 years of culinary experience in a restaurant or college/university setting.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, including sauces and soups, and food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Basic reading and writing skills, with ability to follow written recipes.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Culinary certification and ServSafe certification preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds independently and stand for extended periods.
