Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Tunnel Design Engineer to join our fast-growing Tunnelling team in Arup's Milan Office. The successful candidate will deliver local and global projects, working closely with clients and other professionals with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of design packages, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Work directly with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate work and provide design calculations.
  • Produce project-related correspondence and reports, and support the preparation and review of drawings.
  • Assist in project and team administration duties, ensuring seamless project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, supplemented by a Master's degree in Engineering Geology/Geotechnical Engineering/Soil Mechanics or Structural Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of industry-standard software for tunnelling, geotechnical, and structural design.
  • 3-6 years of geotechnical and tunnelling design experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Good experience in numerical analysis and strong engineering skills.
  • Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills, as well as excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges, with a passion for international working.
  • Fluent in Italian and English.
