We are currently looking for a Logistic Engineer to join our team.
In this role, you will report directly to the Head of Logistic Engineering and Operations and work closely with the Logistic Engineering Coordinator.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing product development to establish appropriate logistics strategies in collaboration with suppliers and logistics service providers, while accurately assessing emerging and discontinuing logistics costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in Simultaneous Engineering Teams (SET) and related industrial sub-projects.
- Collaborate with the purchasing department during the sourcing process, providing necessary concepts and data within specified timelines.
- Create and update documentation (specifications, presentations, etc.) for the nomination phase or post-nomination bidders.
- Design logistics concepts and manage the flow of purchasing materials from suppliers to points of use.
- Organize Just-In-Sequence (JIS) meetings.
- Conduct economic evaluations related to product milestones and assess associated logistics costs.
- Monitor product content and evaluate its impact on the supply chain and internal processes.
- Plan and track logistics costs associated with products, including special containers.
- Evaluate and plan for product investments and warehouse equipment.
- Define packaging requirements for materials.
- Implement and monitor logistics flows in SAP, ensuring updates align with process changes.
- Plan packaging logistics, including container specifications and delivery quantities.
- Oversee the procurement of logistics equipment, defining specifications and conducting technical checks.
- Maintain and update data in Volkswagen Group Systems and SAP.
- Propose and assess solutions for improving logistics flows and layouts.
About You
- University degree in Mechanical, Management, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in high-volume manufacturing or automotive warehouse settings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Experience collaborating with logistics service providers and external suppliers.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Familiarity with safety regulations.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Italian and German is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Assertive personality with a proactive approach to implementing initiatives.
- Outstanding communication skills.
