Senior System Interiors EngineerHitachi Rail – Pistoia, ItalyJob DescriptionHitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self‑motivated Senior System Interiors Engineer who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate will perform a wide range of tasks in the Engineering Department, from technical design of interiors and passenger seat systems to coordination and verification of detailed engineering deliverables.ResponsibilitiesSupport and coordination during the bid and project development of the technical design of interiors, passenger seat systemsDefine conceptual solutions for equipment integration on vehiclesPrepare system requirements specificationsAnalyze suppliers’ technical proposals (CbC, MOM, Gantt, Tests, etc.)Check technical descriptions of systemsVerify 3D and 2D drawings / documents for installation and integration on boardReview FEM analysis reportsDevelop tolerance concept and analysis for equipment integrationPrepare and verify performance test specificationsSupport during FAI testsConduct design reviews with clients and suppliersManage system work package requirementsManage contractual documentation with suppliers (CbC, MOM, Gantt, Tests, etc.)Required Skills / KnowledgeAt least 3 years experience in interiors design in railway or mechanical industry as System Interiors Engineer or similar roleGood knowledge of materials used for interiors – GRP, aluminium alloy, honeycomb, etc.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)Proficiency in mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Creo, CATIA) and IBM DOORSUnderstanding of engineering processes and railway operationsStrong teamwork and communication skillsAbility to work autonomously and manage priorities in a fast‑paced, international settingAvailability for short‑term national and international business tripsDesired Skills / KnowledgeIndependently manage and prioritize tasks while collaborating with the teamAnalytical problem‑solving and business process analysisStrong business acumen and technical skillsEffective interpersonal and communication skillsAdaptable and eager to stay current with technology and industry practicesEducation / QualificationsDegree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background (technical high‑school graduation also considered)LanguagesFluent written and spoken English (minimum international B2 level)Seniority levelMid‑SeniorEmployment typeFull‑timeJob functionInformation TechnologyIndustryRail TransportationEqual Opportunity EmployerWe welcome and value diversity.
