Data Center Security Specialist (Data Center Security – AMER East) Amazon Data Services, Inc. – Amazon Web Services (AWS) Job ID: ResponsibilitiesDrive operational security excellence in several separate facilities located within a short driving distance. Identify physical security gaps and shortcomings and drive corrective action. Interface with and direct vendors involved in security construction, repairs, daily security operations and patrols, and planning. Extract metrics and observe improvements by analyzing hard data. Make recommendations to improve electronic surveillance and access controls. Direct efforts to educate data center occupants on false alarm reductions. Write and implement security processes and procedures. Write reports, create presentations, and communicate with management on the status of physical security operations.About the Team AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. Basic QualificationsExperience with physical security best practices, including physical security systems, investigation techniques, and management of contract security guards. 6+ months' experience in security roles, preferably in a data center or similar environment. Knowledge of administration and operation of access control systems (Lenel, Milestone) and CCTV systems with digital recording.Preferred QualificationsCollege Degree (Bachelor’s) or background in one or more: Military (Career / Military Police / Military Special Operations Forces), Law Enforcement with Arrest Authority, TSA Security Screening, Correctional Facility Officer. 2+ years security experience or equivalent (demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education). 1+ year Leadership experience.Compensation The base pay ranges from $52,400 per year in our lowest geographic market up to $112,000 per year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
