The team is composed by material scientists, nanotechnologists, physicists, chemists, neuroscientists, electronic engineers, computational scientists, biotechnologist and biomedical engineers, sharing their expertise to work at the border of these multiple disciplines.The position will be in the Multifunctional Neural Interfaces Research Unit is coordinated by Prof. Ferruccio Pisanello, to implement research activity related to the IIT Flagship Technologies for Healthy Living, in a synergistic collaboration with the groups of Prof. Teresa Pellegrino, Prof. Fabio Benfenati, Prof. Massimo De Vittorio and Prof. Gianni Ciofani.You will share with the team the main responsibility of developing of investigating fiber-optic-based methodology to optically irradiate novel chemical, biochemical and biological compounds able to selectively generate apoptosis in primary brain tumors.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTSA PhD in nanotechnologies, physics, engineering, or related disciplinesPrevious experience in the use of optical fields with nanomaterialsManipulation of colloidal nanomaterials/nanoparticles for optical applications is also highly appreciatedA strong publication recordThe ability to properly report, organize and publish research dataGood command in spoken and written EnglishADDITIONAL SKILLSProgramming skills in Python and MATLABPrevious experience thermographic imagingGood communication skillsStrong problem solving attitudeHigh motivation to learnSpirit of innovation and creativityGood in time and priority managementAbility to work in a challenging and international environmentAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environmentCOMPENSATION & BENEFITSCompetitive salary package for international standardsPrivate health care coverageWide range of staff discountsWHAT’S IN FOR YOU?An equal, inclusive and multicultural environment ready to welcome you with open arms.
