OverviewJob Title: Director of Business Development. Department: Sales. Reports To: Vice President – Sales. FLSA Status: Exempt. Position Summary: Primary responsibility is business development, client relationship management and generating additional opportunities for receivables growth by onboarding new dealer customers to the Company. This is a high-responsibility sales role covering a territory with assigned Provinces and a portfolio of existing and prospective customers. The role collaborates with manufacturer representatives and the Company’s internal sales organization to nurture and grow the business. Focus is on core product lines and industries served within the territory. Regular communication with existing and prospective customers as well as the Company’s credit and operations personnel is expected. ResponsibilitiesSolicit new dealer customer business and grow the assigned territory through relationship management and organic growth; manage annual receivables growth within the territory. Develop and sell floor plan financing programs for dealers, including presenting pricing terms, proposal letters and buyout programs. Secure and submit new dealer customers’ complete credit packages, including credit applications, business and personal financial statements, background information and opportunity overview with recommendations. Demonstrate very strong verbal and written skills in French and English; negotiation and relationship management experience is required. Travel overnight within the normal course of business across all regions of the assigned territory; periodic inside and outside provincial travel to industry events or customer meetings as assigned. QualificationsEducation/Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is preferred. Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents; construct customer-facing emails and other primary correspondence; communicate effectively over the phone with manufacturer and dealer clients and potential new customers. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions; handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to quickly become proficient in CRM software. Certificates and Licenses: None. Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
