TXT e-Tech, a company belonging to the TXT Group, is looking for a Computer Vision Systems Engineer for the Aerospace & Aviation Business Unit. The person will be involved in the study, design and development of algorithms and functionalities for avionics systems, with particular attention to image processing, object recognition and tracking. Within a multidisciplinary team, they will work on algorithmic development, modeling, simulation and application of artificial intelligence and Computer Vision techniques. The role will also include the integration and verification of the developed solutions, deepening the connection between sensor data, algorithms and system performance. Main activities:

• Participation in the analysis of system functionalities and the definition of related algorithmic solutions;
• Study, development and verification of target tracking algorithms, for estimating the motion of objects observed by sensors and maintaining their traces over time;
• Use and validation of simulation models and environments, also for the generation of infrared images;
• Development of software tools for the preparation and management of annotated image datasets, intended for Computer Vision applications;
• Development of methods and tools for evaluating performance and estimating the reliability of neural networks as a function of input data;
• Integration of tools and algorithms into the simulation environment, execution of tests and analysis of results;
• Collaboration with the project team and preparation of technical documentation relating to the developed solutions and the verifications carried out.

Required skills:

• Good mathematical foundations and basic knowledge of statistics and data analysis;
• Programming skills and knowledge of Python or Matlab/Simulink, also acquired through university or personal projects;
• Knowledge of the principles of Machine Learning and neural networks, also acquired through courses, theses or research activities;
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English.

Desired skills:

• Familiarity with Computer Vision, image processing or dataset preparation;
• Knowledge of Deep Learning frameworks, such as PyTorch or TensorFlow;
• Knowledge, also academic, of estimation and filtering techniques, such as the Kalman filter, and their applications to target tracking;
• Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools, such as Matlab and Simulink;
• Basic knowledge of optics, sensors or infrared images;
• Knowledge of C/C++ or the Linux environment.

Education:

• Degree in STEM disciplines (Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics or Mathematics).

Expected salary for this position is between EUR 28,000 and EUR 34,000 gross per year; The classification will be defined during the selection phase based on the profile and in application of the Metalworkers' National Collective Bargaining Agreement.
