The service aims to maximize benefits of scale and to pass those benefits on to developers.We’re seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Manager to lead the S3 Capacity Management organization. This role is critical in ensuring Amazon S3’s infrastructure scales efficiently to meet global customer demand. You’ll lead teams responsible for developing and maintaining systems that forecast, order, fulfill, and provision capacity for one of the world’s largest storage services. Additionally, you will partner with AWS Infrastructure Services to optimize our supply chain planning and manufacturing processes to support S3’s unique use cases.Key job responsibilitiesLead multiple software development teams focused on capacity management systems and automationDrive the technical vision for S3’s capacity forecasting, procurement, and provisioning systemsCollaborate with hardware engineering, supply chain, and data center teams to optimize capacity deploymentDevelop and maintain sophisticated forecasting models to predict S3’s global capacity needsOwn critical capacity management metrics and create data‑driven strategies for infrastructure growthDesign and implement systems for automated capacity provisioning and optimizationPartner with Finance and Supply Chain teams to optimize infrastructure investmentsLead continuous improvement in capacity planning accuracy and efficiencyAbout the team & culture Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
