FlyingBasket is an innovative Start-Up, specialized in the production of multicopter drones suitable for commercial use such as cargo transportation, heavy lifting operations, power line inspections and various other applications. Since its inception, FlyingBasket has become the benchmark in the commercial cargo drone industry.As we scale production, we’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to take our in-house manufacturing to the next level—from small scale manufacturing to industrial series production. If you’re hands-on, tech-savvy, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this role offers the opportunity to shape the future of drone manufacturing while improving efficiency, speed, and scalability. This position is both challenging and broad as it puts to test your ability to be part of the whole process of manufacturing. Responsibilities Optimize and scale our production process from small batches to series manufacturing. Develop and improve manufacturing tools, jigs, and automation to streamline assembly and testing. Enhance supply chain processes—from sourcing components to ensuring smooth logistics and vendor management. Program and automate production-related tasks using scripting and software tools . Collaborate closely with design, engineering, and operations to ensure manufacturability and cost-efficiency. Improve quality control processes, ensuring that every drone meets safety and performance standards. Identify and implement Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve throughput. Must Have 3+ years of experience in manufacturing industrial electronic or electromechanical products . Proven ability to set up in-house manufacturing —from prototyping to series production. Hands-on experience with manufacturing tools, process automation, and optimization. Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures, lead times, and logistics challenges. Knowledge of testing & quality assurance processes for electronic/electromechanical systems. Experience in supply chain management, including sourcing, procurement, and vendor coordination. Strong problem-solving mindset—able to quickly identify bottlenecks and propose improvements. Experience with programming & scripting. Work permit for Italy. Nice to have Experience in aerospace, automotive, or drone industry . Expert in electronics & software engineering – ability to optimize designs for manufacturability. Familiarity with robotic assembly, CNC machining, or additive manufacturing . Knowledge of battery systems, power electronics, or embedded systems . Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software . Experience with Odoo. Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment . What's great about the job?
