Job Description Summary The Area Sales Manager is driving incremental sales and improvement through the development and execution of a solid commercial plan aimed to drive the adoption of new technologies and implement category leadership.In support of the clinical, marketing, and sales strategy the AM builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.Job Description Main responsibilities include:Ensure the assigned target achievement through a solid plan and executionEngage Sales and Clinical teams in the vision and strategy for Surgery ItalySupport Annual Sales Review (ASR) process on a yearly basisManage pricing strategies in accordance with the BD company objectives and goalsSupport the development and implementation of marketing and sales planning; contribute proactively to market development activitiesLead tender excellence activities driven by a defined pre‑tender process and use of tools to support commercial decisionsEnsure the adoption of SFDC by the team and keep it updated on a monthly basisAnalyze and monitor the achievement of objectives, identify deviations against planned projects, and guide teams toward corrective actionsWork closely with marketing, market access, and commercial operation teams for HTA – VBHC projectsLead and support reps/agents and commercial partners in the fieldMaintain regular visits to KOLs and key non‑clinical stakeholders, decision makersCoordinate, guide, and prioritize clinical specialist activities to ensure training and education of physicians, hospital staff, and sales force trainingContribute to the organization of events and activities at congresses, in person or remotelyIdentify and promote KOL engagement to enable solutions through clinical practiceYour ProfileBachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical disciplines (mandatory)At least 10 years’ experience in surgical (including OR), Abdominal Wall Repair (AWR) surgery (Hernia) market with extended knowledge of KOLs and key stakeholders (mandatory)Complete knowledge of national, regional, and hospital stakeholders involved in AWR reduction (mandatory)Previous experience in Medical Device industry (strongly preferred)Experience managing relationships with Scientific Surgical Society (mandatory)Knowledge of Hernia market and competitive arena (strongly preferred)Experience managing direct or indirect sales reps (strongly preferred)Good PC‑literacy in MS Office; experience with CRM systemsFluent in EnglishWillingness to travel at least 70% of the timeGrowth mindset and results focus: consistently strives to achieve challenging goals and objectives; can be counted on with high autonomy and enterpriseWell‑organized, able to prioritize and manage time effectivelyStrong negotiation skills, seeking win/win solutionsVery good interpersonal skills and proactive, positive attitudeCollaborative, willing to support others and work well in teamsTeam leadership, hiring, staffing, and developing direct reportsBuilding effective teamsSalary Our target base salary range for this role is between€ 54.300and€ 80.000per year, complemented by a competitive bonus structure and a comprehensive benefits package.Why Join BD?
