Software Development Engineer, AWS Infrastructure ServicesAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep our customers’ cloud services running continuously. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You will join a tenured team of Network Development Engineers and Systems Development Engineers to build a new service utilizing AWS technologies.We’re looking for a candidate comfortable working with a broad range of data sources and solving problems at scale. We use Rust, Go, Python, and more. We touch everything from embedded systems and kernel to GRPC/REST APIs and front‑end stack. We own and support services across different verticals:Product – solutions that provide visibility into business‑driving metrics, aggregate information, trigger actions, and help leaders manage the domain.Build and release – own the CI/CD charter, pushing commits through pipelines that build, debug, validate, and update devices across the Amazon network.Validation and qualification – provide testing frameworks to validate OS; own tooling for unit/integration/functional/system testing and static analysis.Infrastructure – own datacenter labs with tooling that manages inventory, reservations, capacity auto‑scaling/provisioning/recovery, sanity checks, etc.Basic Qualifications3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.3+ years of programming using a modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object‑oriented design experience.2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, scalability) of new and existing systems.Preferred Qualifications4+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market.
