About the Energy Unit Our Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors – hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks.We provide integrated engineering and project management services across the entire project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life‑extension. Overview of the Role The Energy Transition team within our Energy unit seeks a Project Manager to lead technical advisory projects in a growing portfolio, supporting clients across the UK and Europe as part of the energy transition.You will also play an active role in improving our project‑management processes and approach, driving delivery excellence and efficiency. Key Responsibilities and DutiesDeliver projects on scope, time, quality and cost Build and manage strong relationships with senior client representatives and internal stakeholders Establish effective communication across the entire delivery team Take the lead on problem solving and decision making Control internal and external commercial aspects of the project under contractual arrangements Manage risk to the business and to the client Work effectively on several projects concurrently to meet tight deadlinesExpected Experience and SkillsProven success in the delivery of thermal energy projects (e.g., OCGT and CCGT) for a consultancy, designer, contractor or major industry client Experience in thermal energy advisory assignments, including lenders due diligence, acquisition due diligence and vendor due diligence of development, construction and operational thermal energy projects Conduct technical reviews of engineering design documentation prepared by third parties and report on findings; lead the preparation of technical reports and specifications to a high‑quality standard while maintaining schedule and budget Lead and manage tender preparation and negotiation for Owner’s Engineer projects Manage interfaces between main contractors Monitor contractor progress against programme and key milestones, supporting clients in resolving contractor claims Identify and manage all critical risks, issues and impacts of the project, ensuring statutory and corporate health, safety and environmental requirements are met Experience in contract administration Knowledge of change management, risk management, schedule and cost management, and all other aspects of project management Make complex decisions, ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to and accept responsibility for own actions Create a work environment that promotes health, safety and wellbeingCandidate Specification EssentialRelevant engineering or management degree or successful experience in project management of energy sector projects Previous experience in electrical infrastructure projects (e.g., Owner’s Engineer, Lender’s Engineer) Excellent communication skills Appreciation of the commercial aspects of project work, including contract terms Ability to adapt and work on multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment Collaborative skills to work with cross‑functional teams across different countries and backgroundsDesirableExperience within the Energy Advisory sector Experience across all stages of the project lifecycle Relevant PM qualifications (e.g., PMQ, PMP, Prince2)UK Immigration We are not currently offering sponsorship to candidates under the Skilled Worker visa route.We welcome applicants who are eligible for alternative immigration routes in the UK that do not require sponsorship as a Skilled Worker now or in the future.
