Permanent Commissioning Manager (CXa) – Data Centre Location: Milan, Italy Employment Type: Permanent Sector: Data Centres / Mission Critical Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager (CXa) to join our team on a permanent basis, supporting the delivery of large-scale data centre projects in Milan. The successful candidate will act as the Commissioning Authority , leading all commissioning activities from design through construction, testing, and handover, ensuring systems meet performance, resilience, and operational requirements. Key Responsibilities Act as the Commissioning Authority (CXa) for mission-critical data centre projects Develop and manage the commissioning plan , programme, and procedures Review design documentation to ensure commissionability , redundancy, and compliance Lead commissioning activities for MEP systems including: Electrical (HV/LV, UPS, generators)Mechanical (chillers, CRAH/CRAC, BMS)Coordinate factory acceptance tests (FATs) and site acceptance tests (SATs) Manage integrated systems testing (IST) and seasonal testing Chair commissioning workshops and progress meetingsEnsure commissioning activities align with TIA-942, Uptime Institute , and client standards Manage handover documentation, O&M manuals, and training for operations teamsIdentify risks and resolve commissioning-related technical issuesEnsure health & safety compliance during commissioning activities Required Experience & Skills Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager / CXa on data centre projects Strong background in mission-critical MEP systems Experience delivering projects through design, construction, and live environments Knowledge of Uptime Institute Tier certifications and/or TIA standards Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and interface with clients, contractors, and designersExcellent reporting, coordination, and communication skills Qualifications Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering Professional certifications (desirable):CXA / Cx A accreditationUptime Institute ATD / AOSFluent English required; Italian language skills advantageous What’s OfferedPermanent position with a growing data centre delivery teamCompetitive salary and benefits packageLong-term pipeline of hyperscale and colocation data centre projects Opportunity to lead high-profile mission-critical builds in Italy
