Join to apply for the Senior RF Engineer role at IC Resources I’m supporting a long-standing client in Milan who are expanding their radar engineering group and are looking to hire a Senior RF Engineer to take technical ownership of RF board design for next-generation airborne and satellite radar systems. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants deeper responsibility across RF hardware, system refinement and full product delivery. As a Senior RF Engineer, you’ll lead the design, optimisation and development of RF boards and sub-systems, ensuring alignment with the overall system architecture and hardware strategy. Working closely with the engineering manager, you’ll refine high‑level concepts into robust, manufacturable hardware, oversee component selection (including COTS), and guide the reuse of proven architectures. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and optimise RF hardware and RF board‑level systems Take ownership of electronic board design across the full engineering lifecycle Prepare design documentation, justification files and guidelines Ensure adherence to development standards, reuse policies and programme plans Coordinate with system leads to maintain consistency between top‑down requirements and hardware constraints Support RF testing, characterisation and validation activitiesRequired ExperienceStrong experience in RF circuit design and RF PCB development Knowledge of modern RF transceiver architectures or direct‑sampling platforms is advantageous Hands‑on use of RF simulation tools such as ADS, CST, MATLAB or SPICE Proficiency in using RF test equipment including VNAs, spectrum analysers and oscilloscopes Programming skills (VHDL, C/C++, C#, MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW) are a plus Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly Comfortable working in collaborative, international engineering teams Master’s degree in a relevant field with 2+ years of experience Fluent EnglishDesirableExperience with radar, remote sensing, or airborne/space hardware programmes Background working across multidisciplinary RF and electronics projectsIf you’d like more detail or a confidential chat about the client, let me know.
