The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks related to railway applications. The position is based in Piossasco, IT .Experience Required2+ to 5 YearsCareer LevelExperiencedEducation RequiredBachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical background.LocationPiossasco (TO).Genoa is an alternative location.AccountabilitiesRequirement analysis.Ensure successful on‑time, on‑budget delivery of engineering and software solutions.Lead work packet project monitoring and control activities, including schedule, CTC, MPR updates, meeting minutes, risk register, and change orders.Prioritise and monitor software problem report status, executing tasks within functional areas that include engineering and software development activities.Facilitate scope/requirement discussions with technical teams and customers.Active participation in optimal overall project technical solutions.Support HW & SW design and commissioning.Support on‑site testing with customers.Required Skills & ExperienceVery good written and spoken English.Minimum 5 years’ experience as a project engineer or lead systems/software engineer for large software control system applications.Experience with basic project management: maintaining and controlling budget, schedule monitoring/development, maintaining risk register, resource and task management.Good understanding of software development life‑cycles, delivery, and HW/SW integration life‑cycle.Prior experience with Microsoft Office, scheduling software (MS Project or Primavera), requirements management systems, and software configuration tools.Prior experience managing small‑medium sized projects and project teams.Demonstrated ability to lead, engage, and manage the tasking of cross‑functional teams of varying skills/experience.Success with multi‑tasking across multiple projects simultaneously.Builds effective relationships and has exceptional communication and leadership skills.Detail oriented with excellent organisational skills.Experience managing projects in an international context.Desired Skills & ExperienceSome knowledge of database, software programming languages.Preferred rail or rail transit domain experience.Familiarity with Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) products, technology, and project deliverables.Preferred prior experience supporting bids and proposals for new work.Experience with overall systems architecture design.Experience with robust, mission‑critical control systems.Experience providing leadership in either a functional management or project management role.More than 5 years of experience is a plus.Thank you for your interest in Hitachi Rail.
