Position: Head of Project Management Location: Milano, Italy Who are we recruiting for? Our client is a globally renowned EPC contractor specializing in solar projects, with a strong track record in renewable energy assets across multiple countries. Following a recent acquisition by a leading investor in the renewable energy sector, the company has secured a robust pipeline of solar projects in Italy scheduled for delivery over the coming years. What will you be doing? Lead and oversee the end-to-end project management of utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects, from development through construction and handover to operations. Define and implement project management frameworks, standards, and best practices to ensure consistent project delivery. Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and risks to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and external partners to ensure seamless execution. Act as the main point of accountability for project performance, reporting progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to senior management. Oversee contractor and EPC performance, ensuring contractual obligations, quality standards, and safety requirements are met. Identify and proactively manage project risks, proposing corrective actions where required. Support strategic planning and portfolio-level decision-making across the Italian project pipeline. Engage with internal stakeholders, investors, external consultants, and regulatory authorities to ensure successful project outcomes. Are you the ideal candidate? Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline. 10+ years of experience in project management within renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally solar PV. Proven experience leading complex, multi-project portfolios in an international or fast-growing organization. Strong knowledge of EPC contracts, project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management. Solid understanding of permitting processes, grid connection requirements, and regulatory frameworks in Italy. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Highly organized, results-driven, and comfortable operating at a senior management level. Fluent in English and Italian. What’s in it for you?
